Journey Through Hope and Healing – 5th Anniversary Celebration

Join us for our the 5th Anniversary celebration of our Journey Through Hope and Healing fundraising event, hosted this year at the beautiful Turnip RoseGrand Newport Plaza venue. A festive evening of dining and dancing will be accompanied by a live and silent auction – champagne and hors d’eouvres will be served as well.

Accepting the “Spirit of Hope” Award on behalf of Orange County United Way will be President and CEO, Max Gardner.

THE STORY:

In 2004, Grandma’s House of Hope (GHH) was a dream. Je’net Kreitner and her husband Patrick, having a real heart for women who are hurting, began to house up to 10 women at a time in their Garden Grove home. They also began packing food bags for hungry children living in local motels and delivering them on weekends. This was a very personal journey of healing for Je’net, having experienced an episode of homelessness herself in 1991. Their vision to help others grew and grew… but there seemed to be so many who needed help.

Three years later, Grandma’s House of Hope begame its own non-profit charity and was on its way to housing and providing support services to over 100 women a year in two Orange County cities, and providing over 300,000 meals a year to children living in homeless conditions.
