Participant Quotes

Oscar

"Grandma's House of Hope has provided me with a warm and fuzzy environment that I am lucky to call home, when I didn't have a home to go to.  They have also helped me in progressing forward by getting closer to reaching my main goal of housing."

Linda

"I'm now excited about life and finally have hope for a nice future."

Gina

"Grandma's House of Hope has really been a great foundation for me to get back on my feet again.  The ladies here are great and the staff are super helpful.  From the person that I was when I first got here, to the person I am now, is like day and night."

Matthew

"Grandma's House of Hope has helped me remain sober by providing me with a place to live and given me the structure I needed to reach my goals."

Tressa

"GHH gave me a foundation. It gave me a starting point to change.  I live in a beautiful place. It's a nice place to start if you want to change, but you have to want to change and do something different.  I'm a lot better, especially since I started taking my meds on a regular basis, I'm really a lot better."

Benjamin

"Grandma's House of Hope has helped me develop structure in my life again and has given me a lot of resources on how to cope with my life struggles."

Heather

"I’m really glad I discovered this place, I can relate to a lot of the participants here" and "now I know a lot of resources."

Matthew G.

"My mental health continues to get better daily. Since transferring to the Bridge program, I have felt a sense of relief and belonging.  I now frequently see my sons over the weekends, which has made me feel alive again. Grandma's House of Hope has given me the opportunity to be a present father."

Margot

"One year ago, I was in hospice, and I was given 2 months to live.  I am proud to say that I am now living a safe and sober life."

Karen

"I was left homeless after going through a difficult divorce. When I arrived at GHH the staff were very helpful. I felt peaceful and felt like I was home. I got to think on my own and I was supported with food and shelter. I felt protected in the house and felt cared for and loved for. A few challenges I overcame in the program were having to start working again, I had to re-learn how to clean after sleeping in my car for a while. I had to learn to be by myself and care for myself without a husband. Learning how to be independent."
